A 7-MONTH-OLD baby’s eating routine

Start your baby’s day with more nutrients through different fruits and foods. It’s better to group foods for this purpose. For instance, you can group the foods on a plate with portions with banana, shredded cheese, and apple. Avoid excessive bananas, it can cause constipation.

You can also grate the foods; grating is a great way to start with baby-led weaning.( Baby-led weaning can be a little tricky in the beginning as babies haven’t developed a pincer grasp.)

Shred the food before you put it on the table, as shredding makes it long and skinny. Which makes it easy to grab and unlikely to choke on.

For supper, give your child steamed broccoli which is cut into thin slices, and is easy to grab and put into mouth. Add smooth oatmeal, prunes that are soaked in water and pureed, along with breast milk.

Breastmilk makes food taste familar to babies and helps them start with different foods. So, add breastmilk to what they’re eating. Alternatively for suppers you can give steamed carrots cut into strips, along with oatmeal mixture but instead of prunes give them blueberries.

A quick note, never leave your babies alone while they’re eating, babies can choke quickly and be silent when they do choke.
